Ok its very weird, i hadnt heard a peep about the new Avatar movie (yea yea dances with smurfs i heard it) but suddenly everyones going batshit loco over it. Im gonna go see it with Kiteless and crew tumurra, i had no real intention of watching this thing as it looks like a PS3 game...or maybe i was looking at the trailer for the PS3 game...i cant tell XD

But anyway im tryin not to get roped in on the sudden hype, but i figure ill be amused by this flick at the very least.

Anyone wanna buy a 17" LCD Acer AL1721 LCD Monitor cheap? It it's around my area, I'll deliver it for a little extra in gas, if not, shipping.

It works perfectly, I was using it up until yesterday when I completed the transfer over to my laptop. It has VGA, and DVI, so it's fairly decent. Even has speakers in it, but they sound like crap. No dead pixels either.

I want $40 for it.

So some good news at work o_o We want to push to get the next release out by the 21st of January... so, that means I now have a window to make it to the con ^_^ I will ask for the days off tomorrow, I need to seek out a room now o_o

And it looks like I will be going to see Ria around my birthday in early February :)

So the other day I finally got tired of the beach-house theme I had going on my plot in second life, and decided to make something else. First I leveled out the land, sloped it down jaggedly towards the sea, then built a lovely sea-wall with a walking path and railway around the whole border. Solex, the fellow right beside me, decided to mirror the sea-wall and fence idea as well, so that our plots matched up even moreso.

Then I built this fancy thing. :3





The whole ground level is an open park of sorts, with my business and some avatar creation space readily available. At the back there's a way up top, and from the main living area there's a trap door in the floor to get down to a hanging bedroom. It wound up being pretty damn fancy looking. So I thought I'd share. :3

I should really use this journal for more than just ragevents about games. >_>

So as anybody who has been physically around me for more than about an hour probably knows, my phone is currently set to use Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time sound effects for messages. (I had a Legend of Zelda ringtone set, but it was too quiet, so I switched it to a sample from The Most Unwanted Song.)

It's amusing, but I admit I'm getting tired of it. So I'm deciding what new sound theme I want- I think I want to theme it much more thoroughly. While mail and SMS are the two most common sound events on my phone, I want more of them covered for the replacement.

I think I'm going to go entirely with samples from the music of Jim's Big Ego. There's enough variety for every major system event, plus individual ringtones:

This is kind of a note-to-self post, I admit. I was thinking of this walking to work this morning (see previous Twitter aggregations, but I crashed my bike Monday and the shop is busy and hasn't gotten around to repairing it yet) and wanted to dump my thoughts somewhere.

Well in the morning I will be heading back to the UK for a small break, just the small matter of a 7-hour flight to get through but after that it'll be nice to be back home to see some family, friends and make a fuss of my kitties while I can!

Not sure if it'll be snowing when I arrive given the weather reports but considering the Dubai heat a bit of ice and cold will be a nice change for me really... X3

In terms of art I won't be working on any while I'm home, however I do have a few things ready to upload progressively to compensate for this and I will be resuming work on my pending requests and other items on my to-do list once I'm back in Dubai in the new year, so expect to see lots more from me then!

As for Youtube & UStream I'll also resume activity there in the new year, the same goes for the "Artist of the Week" feature which will restart the first week of January based on the nominations I received from you all this month! (Note that you can still nominate artists if you haven't already, just check my previous journal!)

Note that I'll still be generally online, I'll just be trying to destress a little and reflect on the year as a whole to try and ensure I'm fresh and ready for 2010!

Edit: Things are better between Ria and myself, I forgot that I haven't really mentioned it unfiltered. I wouldn't say we're 100% yet but we are moving in the right direction so don't worry ^_^

This guy I've never forgotten for what he did for me at FC'06. Had a pretty shitty argument with the people I was rooming with, was pissed and frustrated, standing on the balcony of my room half in tears from being so frustrated, to have him come out on the balcony next to mine saying "You look like you could use a SoCo conversation" and offered me the bottle.

That turned into a couple of hours of passing the bottle back and forth, shooting the shit, and leading into explaining why it's a "SoCo conversation", you'll say shit you won't normally say. Cheered me right the hell up, and he didn't even know who I was.

That's about as good of a person as it gets right there. That holds as one of the best con memories I ever had, and was happy to still keep in contact with him after, even if it was just e-mail and LJ. Hell, even just dropping a sketch on me when I did a post asking to pay people to sketch something up.

We just lost someone who was genuinely a really good guy. I'll miss the hell out of him, and I'll be sure to sip on a bottle of SoCo at the next FC I attend in his memory.

Please give tashabear support. She stuck with him all the way through it.

This is so delicious. I got Android working on my HTC Fuze. Now, I just need to get it up to speed! It's odd looking on my screen but eh, runs, makes calls.. now I just want my buttons mapped right! XD

So I got a laptop again. I've not had one in almost 6 months now since I sold my last one, and I have not had the urge to look for another one. I went shopping at Best Buy with mom and got a bug up my ass, and figured I had two cars, so I traded my spare care for a laptop.

I traded a shitty 1993 Ford Escort that I hardly paid anything for, for a HP Pavilion DV9000, very loaded laptop. So I made it my new computer since I prefer to have a laptop. I gave my old machine to Stephen, since when we lived in Arlington Heights, Fuian killed his computer, and then had the balls to give him a piece of shit, as a way to get even I guess.

But the cost of this laptop was much greater than just one car, no. It cost me two...

I forgot to remove my vanity plates from the escort, and I'll be damned if I'm going to lose my plates to some pumpkin head college kid in Milwaukee. So I got in the Buick and gave chase, and almost caught him, but the water pump failed on me, and unknown to me, the engine overheated terribly, and it killed something, and it stranded me on I43. Got towed home, that hurt, it was over 45 miles I had to have it shanked home.

Apparently my christmas present was already in the works, but was just pushed ahead... Mom and dad got me a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix. Awesome little car, I love it, I'm gonna keep this one, espically since it's a gift.

Then, I got sick of the kids bullshit. Not calling me back, not replying to my text messages, so fuck him, I drove up to his house late last night, and took my plates right off the car right there in Milwaukee, and left. I got my fucking plates back, had to use a ton of time, and gas to get there, and "STEAL" them back. Though he was going to drive around on my plates I think, so I fucked him over on that aspect, and really, it's not stealing if the plates BELONG to you. I just took my plates back (For those of you who have different state laws; Plates stay with the owner in the state of Wisconsin, not the car.)
